School Bus Driver (Hourly)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious School Bus Driver to transport students to and from athletic events, field trips, and special events. The ideal candidate is a responsible driver with excellent driving and communication skills, a genuine care for student safety, and the ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe loading, transport, and unloading of students.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Report any vehicle issues, delays, or incidents to the school administration.
- Comply with all traffic regulations, school policies, and state transportation laws.
- Provide a welcoming and respectful atmosphere for all students.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid New Jersey CDL Class B license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Clean driving record.
- Previous school bus or passenger transport experience preferred.
- Must pass a criminal background check as required by state law.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with children and families.
- Punctual, dependable, and safety-focused.
Work Schedule:
- Typical hours: 2-3 afternoons for athletic events, with occasional morning, mid-day, evening, or weekend assignments for field trips or events. Availability on Wednesday afternoons a must.
- Approximately 10-15 hours per week.
Compensation: $35-45 per hour.
