Leave Replacement for the Fall Term
Divisions: Middle School (Grades 5-8) and Upper School (Grades 9-12)
Campuses: Willow Ave and Park Ave
Mission: The Hudson School provides intellectually inquisitive students with a rigorous and relevant college-preparatory education that inspires independent thinking and intellectual risk-taking. Our goal is to develop compassionate, responsible, principled citizens who are socially conscious and committed to lifelong learning, academic scholarship and service. The school fosters an eclectic and supportive environment that challenges students and faculty to develop their passions and talents through a stimulating, balanced, and creative interdisciplinary curriculum.
Responsibilities: French teachers are responsible for the development, implementation, and progression of The Hudson School's world language intensive immersion curriculum. A THS French teacher works with grades 5-8 and 9-12 in placement-based world language classes.
A successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and experiences:
- Ability to work with students in multi-aged groups
- Belief that all students can achieve at the highest academic level
- Recognize individual student learning needs and develop strategies to address those needs
- Able to meet often to collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student progress
- Native French speaker
- 2-3 years teaching experience in an immersion language environment
- Experience with students ages 10-14 required
- Flexibility to work beyond curriculum to provide a well-rounded experience entirely in the target language
This is a leave replacement position for the fall term.
